One More Thing....

The "Turkey Trot!!!"
I forgot to mention, in the all Thanksgiving excitement... and of course, all the time it took to put up & decorate our tree.... anyway, I forgot to mention that I (Sara) ran in a "Turkey Trot" on Thanksgiving day. It was a 5k the "Noon Lion's Club" of Naperville, Il. put on. It was my first race and I hope to have MANY more! I started running about 6 weeks ago, and surprisingly have really enjoyed it! (I can't even believe I'm saying this....) It was sort of a family race--my cousins, Jon, Dave & Paul ran, along with my brother, Brian. And my sweet sister/cousin Katie ran right along with me!! (We promised each other we'd stick together no matter what!) Here's a pic of the tshirt I got for running and a pic of my number tag, which I thought was SO cool!! (It made me feel like a "real" runner!!) Anyone out there up for a 5k??!!!!..... A marathon is next on my list!!....

This number was NOT what I placed in the race (at least I don't think...). It was my registration number.... there were over 5,000 people in this race!!! Isn't that amazing??!!! It was FUN!:) I want to say "thanks" to all those who have encouraged me in this new challenge in my life! Especially Shane--you're the BEST, my biggest fan! I LOVE YOU!!

Sara, that is awesome! When do you find the time to train? I wish I enjoyed running b/c I miss competing in things nowadays. It's just too exhausting for me! Keep up the good work!

OH MY GOSH!!!! I am so proud of you. This is a huge accomplishment. I have only done a 15 mile. Half bike and half run. It was alot of fun, but ALOT of work. I had a friend do it with me as well - and that make all the difference. When you have all the support in the world, I feel you can do anything. CONGRATS SARA!!!!
