Well, I'm just going to pretend it hasn't been forever since I've posted anything.... And start catching you all up subtly, as if you really haven't missed anything... Sound okay?... Good!!!
We went on an outing after Shane got home a couple of weeks ago and got our Fall pumpkins! I love this time of year!!!... (I can't say that enough!....) We got two small ones for Zion and Paige to paint and two big ones for us to carve. We painted the two small ones last week. It was fun. And messy!!
Painting.....
Here, Zion is getting himself more paint... It's the same way with ketchup--they never think they have enough on their plate!
So, I think this picture represents why Zion really wanted more paint!....
And this is Maddox... I know, I know, I should've let him paint too!... But I didn't... He observed this year!... Next year he will get to have LOTS of fun painting!!!
Paige was taking her time and making sure she added a lot of pink!...
Here's a picture of how pretty Zion's pumpkin started out... Isn't it funny how they keep painting and painting and adding colors..... And it usually always turns out black or brown..... Oh well, it's FUN!!!

And just the other day we carved our pumpkins!! Here's Shane getting the process started.
And Zion was SO excited!!!

Paige... So cute, isn't she??.... She's ready to draw on the pumpkin!

As was a tradition for Shane growing up, and is now one for us, we each get to draw a piece of the face. Then Shane cuts them out.
Shane drew the mouth on the right P.
Sara drew the nose on the right P and both eyes on the left P.
Zion drew the left eye on the right P and the mouth on the left P.
Paige drew the right eye on the right P and the nose on the left P.
(P = pumkin, in case you didn't realize...)
We are in the fall spirit around here!!! I love this time of year!!!!! I will post a pic of our front porch soon--mums, pumpkins and scarecrows! I love it!!!! Happy fall, everyone!!!

Oh man...we've got to get some pumpkins soon before it's too late! Can you believe we went to the pumpkin patch and didn't get any?? Your post has inspired me to do this straight away! It looks like you guys had so much fun!!

Can I just tell you that my breathing got shallow just from seeing the pictures of your kids with paint??? You are a brave, brave, mama. I think my kids can count on one hand the number of times I've broken out the paint. The thought gives me hives! But they look like they were having soooo much fun! And I love how you each get to draw a part of the pumpkin face! What a great memory day for your kids!
We just got our pumpkins the other day, too! I thought I was brave giving Brayden a marker... hehe... I like the paint idea, though - might have to try that. Keep us updated more often!! ;)
